The rabbit was having a dream.
In the dream, it found a river that hadn't yet dried up. As it entered, all the mud and dust sticking to it peeled away layer by layer, revealing the natural purple shade of its fur.
The rabbit stood there in pure delight, its body becoming softer and shinier as the mud dissolved away.
When the rabbit woke up, it didn't think much of the dream. It left its sleeping chamber and went back to the typewriter buidling. Then it felt an unfamiliar feeling.
Its fur was falling out in clumps. As it did so, its skin was bubbling and dissolving, exposing its muscle tissue. The muscle tissue was tearing apart and disintegrating too.
In a moment of desperation, the rabbit tried to grab hold of its decaying body, to stop the process from happening, but it was too late.
"I thought... I-I was.." the rabbit croaked, before its vocal chords went loose.
The innards spilled out onto the floor, its bones started crumbling, and eventually there was nothing left but a pile of dust.
