"Numinic" is the name of this game. All players must abide by its rules.
The Humble Scribe is the person tasked with keeping record of the ruleset and other relevant game information deemed necessary to publish for all players to see.
Any person may join the game and become a player by stating their intent to do so in #actions, unless they were already a player before in the last 72 hours.
Any person may leave the game and cease being a player by stating their intent to do so in #actions.
The gamestate of Numinic is a record of elements that are part of Numinic.
This rule must contain a full list of types of elements recorded in the gamestate, and be updated when they are added, changed, or removed.
Game elements are:
A rule is a body of text which describes or defines how the game or part of the game works.
Rules must be worded as unambiguously as reasonably possible.
Optionally, rules may have a title.
Once a rule is added to the ruleset, it must be given number n+1, where n is the number of the last rule in the ruleset.
A proposal can be made by sending a message in #proposals. A proposal is one of the following:
Once a proposal message is sent, another message containing a poll must be sent right after, with the following settings:
All players and only players are allowed to vote in the poll. Abstaining counts neither as "for" nor "against".
The voting period lasts until the poll is over. The proposal takes effect if it has more "for" votes than "against" by the end of its voting period.
The proposal message must not be edited at any point; otherwise, it will not be eligible to take effect.
The Judge is the person responsible for resolution of rule disputes.
In case of a rule dispute, a request can be made in #judgement. The request takes form of a question or a disputed statement.
The Judge must respond to the request in a timely manner. Until they do, all relevant game processes are paused.
During 24 hours after the Judge made their response, players may vote to overrule their judgement by electing a new judge. Otherwise, the judgement sets a precedent and takes effect immediately, resuming the game.
